LaVon N. Hatleli, 84, of Sheboygan, Wis. passed away at her home on Monday, October 1, 2012 with her loving family beside her.
LaVon was born in Eau Claire, Wis. on February 8, 1928, a daughter of the late James and Inez (McCann) Powers. She attended schools in Eau Claire. She was married in Minnesota to Edvin Hatleli. For many years they resided in Milwaukee where she was employed with Briggs and Stratton. They moved to the Hayward-Springbrook area and resided there before coming to Sheboygan in 1991.
LaVon greatly enjoyed being with people and participating in her church. She had a variety of interests which included, quilting, sewing, fishing, hunting, canning, reading, writing poetry and dancing with her dearly loved husband.
LaVon is survived by her husband of 67 years, Edvin, Sr.; six daughters and a son, Mary Tanner of Sheboygan, Edna (Alan) Dearie of Sheboygan, Janette (Joseph) Duquette of Bowler, Janet (Floyd) Wenninger of Sheboygan, Victoria Deer of Sheboygan, Edvin Hatleli, Jr. of Sheboygan and Robin Schubert (Gary Johnson) of Sheboygan; 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Fischer of Sheboygan and a sister-in-law, Kathy (Guy) Karo of Sheboygan. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other family. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Noreen Hatleli and her brothers and sisters, Roberta, Gene, Lonnie, James and Richard.
A funeral service for LaVon will be held 10 a.m., Monday, October 8, at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home (Novak-Ramm-Ziegler) with Pastor Steve Aust of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 1535 S. 12 St. on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m.
